What is a week end?

We had a fantastic weekend filled with lots of kisses from our new pup, Bo. I'll dedicate a separate post to him later, but for now, just know he is the sweetest and we're so glad we could make him a part of our family.

We also watched a good deal of the Olympics and Downton Abbey. The title of this post is actually a quote from the first season from Maggie Smith's character, the Dowager Countess of Grantham. We're a bit obsessed with this show since starting the first season last week. I didn't think Tyler would enjoy it, but he's just as into it as I am. So if you're into period dramas and British accents, you should probably watch it too.

My birthday present arrived on Saturday, so Tyler begged me to open it all day, even though my birthday isn't until the 20th of August. It was like Christmas time all over again. I give into peer pressure easily, so I let him give it to me after he promised that my birthday would still be special. And guess what I got? A fancy schmancy camera that I don't even know the whole name of!! But it's a Canon something or other and as you can see from the above photo, is several steps above the old point and shoot we got for our wedding. Tyler really blew me away with this one. Our manual for dummies will be arriving soon so hopefully we can get to know our camera off of Auto. Expect loads more pictures around here!

My mom's birthday was this weekend, so on Sunday we had a big family dinner, organized by my sisters and I, without my mother's knowledge. What good children we are, huh? Bo came along and was a bit overwhelmed by everyone, but got some playtime in with Scout and Pippin. Everyone liked the cake I made and my mom wasn't too mad at us for going behind her back. :) I took some pictures with my new camera, which I'll post later.

It was really hard leaving Bo at home yesterday to go back to work, but he still likes us just the same (I hope). This week we don't have a whole lot going on, so I'm sure there will be more puppy face time, Downton Abbey, and cheering on Team USA.

Only three more days until the weekend! Woof.
