First of all, don't read this if you're hungry. Second of all, please excuse me while I post pictures of food.
Last Saturday, I cooked my very first turkey! Probably one of the braver things I've ever done. And may not do ever again. Special thanks to Tyler's work for providing us with the turkey. We had to have Caleb and Logan over to help us eat it (and the rest of the food-stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, rolls, gravy- I spent the whole day preparing). Here's how I made them:
In a bowl I combined 1 cup complete pancake mix, 3/4 cup water, one of those individual baby servings of applesauce, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and a few tablespoons of oatmeal. Then I just cooked them on my griddle like normal old pancakes. I sliced one apple and cooked it in some butter for the topping. And then topped that off with syrup and pecans. Tyler chose to put nutella on his. It would have been even better with whipped cream. But then my trip to the gym would have been totally shot to you-know-where.
Tonight we were craving German treats and were about to take an expensive trip to Cost Plus when we decided to turn to our dear friend, Mr. Amazon, instead. These babies will be arriving in a 36 pack come Friday (we hope).
Our bellies have been happy this holiday season. Go eat something bad for you! It's Christmas!
