Proof I am turning into my mother

Case in point: It's not yet 5 AM and I am wide awake. And I have been since two o' clock!!!! Believe me, I tried really hard to fall back asleep, but it just wasn't happening. Apparently my body thinks five and a half or so hours of sleep is good enough. Yes, if you do the math, it was lights out for us before 9 last night (thanks a lot, migraine). So logically, I got up and showered and am now coherent enough to form complete sentences. Tyler went to sleep around the same time as me (last night is kind of a blur, so I'm not really sure) and he is still sound asleep. I wish I had his sleeping stamina.

Proof I am not yet really turning into my mother: Our Christmas tree is already up. Whaaaaaaaat?! We were so stinkin' excited when we brought all that stuff home from Kohl's we couldn't just stuff it in our closet. And we listened to Christmas music while we carved pumpkins, so we thought, why not? If anyone has a problem with that, just come on over and look at how adorable our tree is. :) We also got this super cute gingerbread house advent calendar thing that I've already started filling up. Yes, I just used "adorable" and "super cute" in the same paragraph. So what, who cares? Only 44 days until Christmas!!!  Tyler already started his shopping, too, so we've even got presents under that tree. I've just put my usual disdain for people who have their trees up before Thanksgiving past me. Since it's our first Christmas together as married people, I think we have the right to draw it out as long as possible. And let me tell you, it's quite magical.

Other things...

Happy 11/11/11!!! Today is special for us because it means we've been married for 8 months. That blows my mind. Time is going far too fast.

Our Hymns of Thanksgiving performance is only 9 days away! Look for us on TV. We'll try not to embarrass ourselves.

Singing with an orchestra is SO MAJESTIC! I seriously almost cried on Sunday at rehearsal.

I can't wait for Thanksgiving. Four day weekend, family, and food. What more could I ask for?

I haven't even started Christmas shopping yet. Tyler is a shopping ninja.

We're all caught up with NCIS. Now what?

Getting out of bed at the usual 6:30 is really hard when our little apartment is cold and Tyler is so warm. Thrice this week I didn't get up until after 7. Once that meant not bathing. Don't judge me.

It's Friday!!!! And we get a pizza party at work.

Enjoy your weekend!
